IT Junior System Administrator

Job Title: IT Junior System Administrator

Reports To: IT Manager

Direct Reports: None

Objective:

As an IT Junior System Administrator, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and ensuring the reliable operation of computer systems, servers, and virtualization. A successful IT Junior System Administrator will have a thorough knowledge of network infrastructure and server management, and will strive to maintain the highest possible levels of systems and infrastructure availability.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support the system users and troubleshoot issues, providing technical assistance and training when necessary,
  • Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure,
  • Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools,
  • Monitor and analyze system performance and security, proactively addressing issues as they arise,
  • Manage backup and recovery processes for systems and data, ensuring integrity and availability

  • Able to contribute positively as part of a team, and help with various tasks,
  • Proactive, flexible, initiative multi-tasking and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail,
  • Commitment to discretion and confidentiality concerning sensitive company information,

Skills:

  • Practical experience in a role such as IT Technician, Engineer, Administrator, or a similar position,
  • Knowledge of operating systems (Windows), network protocols, and hardware components,
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (such as VMware, Hyper-V) and system management tools,
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure and Office 365 will be considered a plus,
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
